Description: Basecamp was the first widely used web-based project management application. It provides a message area, task lists, and a files area. It has the ability to create teams, assign privileges to files, send reminder emails about tasks for files, and structure team collaboration.

Review: A great tool for collaboration. We particularly like it for storing documents that we need to share among clients.The downside is that to work with a document you need to download it, change it and upload.The upside is that it is super easy to manage multiple projects, give different access to different people, and to categorize information. We also use it heavily for assigning and tracking tasks.
