Description: EchoSign has multiple products, including EchoSign Web, EchoSign for SalesForce, and EchoSign Api and Widget, as well as EchoSign for GoogleDocs. The Web version is quite simple to use. You upload a document, and it is forwarded for a signature. You can indicate fields if you want for the person to enter. Otherwise, a simple agreement and initials is all it takes to sign the document. The signed documents are tracked for your convenience. Pricing starts at free for five signatures a month, $14.95 for unlimited signatures, and $99/month for a team of 5 users.

Review: It's pretty hard not to love a product when the sight provides music as I watch the demo, and gives me direct access to everything I want to know, without my needing to sign away my life. EchoSign definitely bends itself in the direction of accessibility. The pricing is terrific. It's free if you only need a few signatures a month. And if you need unlimited, it's $14.95, very competitive.

Comparing EchoSign to it's competitor, DocuSign, there are some disappointments. For example, the idea that my initials are sufficient for signing is not great. I prefer seeing a signature. Also, the tab function, "sign here" appears to be easier in DocuSign, but I didn't get a chance to see a demo of setting it up in either product. However, it does seem that EchoSign is promoting the free-form style.

Some of the advantages of EchoSign are that it has a mobile option, as well as some wonderful other options, such as an API, a Web Option and interface to Google Docs. Some options only come with the high-end Enterprise version.

The winning features for EchoSign (versus its competitors) are that it allows you to request written signature, and oversees the fax return process, and it also lets you send files other than PDF. In the end, it's a tough call: both products are serving a great need, and the competition is only going to help the end users.

Echosign vs. Docusign vs. RightSignature

From: Martin Walton, 06/21/11

Our team tried all 3 apps. We found Echosign to be good overall, easy to learn, and strong in the Salesforce integration. Docusign seemed to have a ton of features but was hard to configure, and the signing process had too many steps for our customers to get through to sign the document. The decision for us came down to Echosign or RightSignature. We ended up choosing RightSignature because it looks good, the features are pretty intuitive, we use the template feature for our main contract, and signing is really easy. Pricing is also a bit lower than the other 2 apps.

Image signatures vs Digital Signature

From: Wahaj, 04/07/11

Yes, 21st Century needs Digital Signatures. One can use another similar service called Ascertia Docs http://docs.ascertia.com which based on the concept of cryptographic digital signatures. This solution also removes the hurdle of providing online signature generation using smart card or USB token thus addressing the problem of signer's identity. Ascertia Docs provides a free service (5 signatures) and paid one in 19 EUR (unlimited signatures)

Shill

From: HA HA, 03/29/11

It's pretty clear the Docusign poster is a shill for Docusign. Docusign tried to rip me off by $10,000 a year for what I could have gotten at echosign or the other two companies for $15 a month. But in the end I decided to go a different route. Go fly a kite docusign. Stop over charging small companies.

one vs theother

From: Emilio Valle, 10/28/10

I don't agree with the comment above. I think there is a big difference in pricing depending which option, for a guy like me docusign wants 1000 a yr. for unlimited while echo is 14.95 a moth. That's a big difference.

Echosign?.... really?

From: luvandp3ace, 08/20/10

Quite seriously, I've seen what echosign can do. Signing with your mouse is the sadest thing I've ever seen. We are in the 21st century and people are still trying to write out cursive with a mouse? Trust me on this one, go with Docusign. There isn't a big difference in price, and the functionalities will make your life easy. I do understand that this review is a bit outdated, but with Docusign you can sign mobile, ipad, etc etc. I don't know why Echosign is saying they are the number 1 provider of online esignatures. I'm pretty positive Docusign his more than 2x the customer base.
